Beech Class work with a Professor

Professor Adrian Oldknow, Emeritus Professor at Chichester University, has been working with Beech Class this term to help get them started using microbits. On Thursday this week, Adrian brought in some robot cars, which children were able to write programs for. They also learned how to create a remote control using another microbit to control the movement of the robot car.

Microbits are micro-sized computers that can be programmed using Make Code, which is free software online. They have been developed by the BBC to enable children and young people to have greater access to coding. We are incredibly privelged to have Adrian working with us and he has been a brilliant inspiration t all the children. WE are looking forward to more children across the school getting to use the microbits, whcih were purchased for the school using a donation from Lurgashall Fete.
