Grasshopper Class

Grasshopper Class is a vibrant and enthusiastic mixed Year 2 and Year 3 class, taught by Miss Enticknap and supported by Mrs Lintott.

In Grasshoppers, we believe that every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow and discover something new! We encourage our children to become confident, independent learners who are willing to have a go, persevere when things feel tricky and learn from their mistakes. We embrace a ‘can do’ attitude and a growth mindset, celebrating effort, curiosity and progress along the way.

Our classroom is a place where questions are encouraged, ideas are valued and mistakes are seen as an important part of learning. We love to investigate, explore, discuss and solve problems, giving children opportunities to think deeply and explain their ideas. We develop our understanding through a mixture of concrete, pictorial and abstract approaches, helping children to make connections between what they can see, what they can do and what they understand.

We take pride in being independent thinkers and enthusiastic learners. We use subject-specific vocabulary to explain our thinking, justify our answers and challenge ourselves to make our learning even better. Whether we are investigating, creating, reading, writing, calculating or working as a team, we are always looking for ways to deepen our understanding and extend our learning.

Most importantly, Grasshopper Class is a place where learning is fun! We enjoy discovering new things, sharing our successes, supporting one another and celebrating the unique strengths that each member of our class brings. We are curious, resilient, creative and ready to take on new challenges – always remembering that there is no limit to what we can achieve when we believe we can!
