School Council

Our School Council We believe in the importance and value of the ‘Pupil Voice’ and our School Council gives us the opportunity to share our opinions and ideas. Our School Council is made up of 3 children from each class, totaling nine members in all. We meet each fortnight with a link adult, on a Friday, to discuss matters of importance and share our new ideas. The agenda is raised before the meeting and often involves ideas from our Class Council. We always set the agenda for the next week at the end of every meeting and record the minutes from each meeting so we always know what we've decided. Our School Council has an executive committee, of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. This is our current executive team:
Our members of the school council this year are: Melissa, Zac, Izzy, Josh, George, Phillip and Joe. We were chosen by our class and campaigned to be on the council. Secret ballots were then held and the votes were counted to see who was on the council. Last year we worked really hard to improve our playground markings! Each class also has its own Class Council. They meet regularly to discuss ways of making sure the learning environment works well for everyone and listen to each other's new ideas. They also find out about what has happened at the school council meetings. We help with decisions about running the school. All the children have the chance to say what they think is good about the school and how we can improve it. Our ideas are included in the school's Strategic Development Plan. We have our own pupil edition of the SDP. It is called 'Making our school a better place'. |
