Welcome to Class 1's page!

This half-term Class 1 have been looking at nursery rhymes and poems.

We have identified problems that nursery rhyme characters have had, and worked out what we could do to help them.  As part of this learning we have looked at, and written, letters to the characters to help them.

Our role play area has evolved into a very plausible post and sorting office, and we have had fun sorting letters, parcels and different objects.  Some people have even been 'postal workers' and delivered post to different people in the class.

Class 1 had a fabulous time out on our school excursion.  We visited the sorting office in Petworth and saw how the postal system really works.  Everyone had a great time and we are now enhancing our learning by making changes to our class post office, writing more letters and thinking about how to write to Father Christmas.

First we posted our letters.....                                                   Then we emptied the post box... 

We sorted the post...                                                                ...and found the right slot for our letters.

The next day the postman delivered our letters to our houses! What a wonderful experience.
